Martial Arts Schedule

Sensei Jonathan floating Monk

Some of you have been asking do I still train? And if I do train, how do I?

Well, the answer is YES! Seido Karate is something I do every day. I do not look at it as something I have to do, it is just something I do, it is part of my lifestyle. My training schedule is below and as you can see my objective is to go over all my Seido Material every week, with extra emphasis on the basics and my advanced curriculum.

Sparring can be a challenge when you are “solo” training. You can train on the heavy bag or find someone to hold pads for you, but is not the same as sparring with another person. It will be almost impossible to find someone who spars with the exact same “Dojo” rules that you do. I have found the best solution is to make friends with other martial artist and build a trusting relationship with them. Then have clear goals that you want to achieve in sparring and ask them to help. By sparring outside our “system” you will increase your sparring skills exponentially. Where I am there are plenty of MMA, Boxing, Tang Soo Do, Shotokan Karate, Praying Mantis and Ninjutsu practitioners to work with and keep the sparring skill sharp.
